The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. 132 succoured you with flocks and sons, 133 "And Gardens and Springs. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They said, 'Alike it is to us, whether thou admonishest, or art not one of the admonishers; 136 this is nothing but a habit of the ancients: 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 And so they gave him the lie: and thereupon We destroyed them. In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 139 Surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 140
