The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not take heed? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 So be fearful of God and follow me. 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 and gardens, and springs: 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us if you warn us or do not warn. 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 Surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 140
