Messengers, eat what is wholesome and do good deeds: I am well aware of what you do. 51 This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so hold Me alone in fear. 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they think that by all the wealth and offspring with which We provide them 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 Until when We lay hold of the luxuriant ones of them with the torment, and lo! then they are imploring! 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 "In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur'an), like one telling fables by night." 67 Have they not pondered the matter, or did that come to them, which did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 Had the truth followed their fancies, the heavens, the earth, and all who live in them would have surely been corrupted. No, We brought them their Remembrance; but from their Remembrance they turn away. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
