The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 127 Do you build monuments on every high place in vanity, 128 “And prefer strong palaces, that perhaps you may live for ever?” 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants! 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 "And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know. 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 And gardens and springs. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 That is nothing but a habit of the ancients, 137 "And we are not going to be punished." 138 So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
