Hast thou not regarded those who dispute concerning the signs of God, how they are turned about? 69 Those who reject the Book and the (revelations) with which We sent our messengers: but soon shall they know,- 70 when, with iron collars and chains around their necks, they are dragged 71 Into boiling water, then in the fire shall they be burned; 72 and then they will be asked, "Where are those whom you associated [with God]?" 73 "Besides Allah" They will say: "They have vanished from us: Nay, we did not invoke (worship) anything before." Thus Allah leads astray the disbelievers. 74 [The angels will say], "That was because you used to exult upon the earth without right and you used to behave insolently. 75 Enter the gates of hell to live therein forever. How terrible is the dwelling of the arrogant ones. 76 Therefore have patience, the Promise of Allah is true. Whether We show you something of that We promise them or call you to Us, to Us they shall all return. 77 Verily We sent messengers before thee, among them those of whom We have told thee, and some of whom We have not told thee; and it was not given to any messenger that he should bring a portent save by Allah's leave, but when Allah's commandment cometh (the cause) is judged aright, and the followers of vanity will then be lost. 78
