Thamud denied the messengers 141 When their fellowman Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?” 142 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 143 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 145 (Do you think) you will be left secure here 146 "Gardens and Springs, 147 The fields of corn and date-palm trees with soft and tender spathes, 148 hewing out houses in the mountains and taking pride in your skill? 149 Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me, 150 Do not obey the orders of the transgressors 151 who corrupt in the earth, and do not reform' 152 They said, "You are only bewitched and insane. 153 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!" 154 He said, "Here is a she-camel. She shall have her turn of drinking, as you have yours, each on an appointed day, 155 Do not molest her lest the chastisement of an Awesome Day should seize you." 156 Yet they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 158 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159
