The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is a written book, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
