Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
