The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
