The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
