▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
