The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
