The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
