The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
