In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
The Calamity! 1 What is the Striking? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is! 3 The day on which men shall be as scattered moths, 4 And the mountains will become as carded wool. 5 Then he whose deeds shall weigh heavier in the scale 6 shall find himself in a happy state of life; 7 But as for him whose balance (of good deeds) will be light, 8 A bereft and Hungry One will be his mother, 9 And what shall make thee know that which she is? 10 It is the scorching fire. 11
