Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! 1 keep vigil the night, except a little 2 A half thereof, or abate a little thereof 3 and recite the Quran in a distinct tone; 4 For We are about to send down to you a message of considerable gravity. 5 Surely the rising by night is the firmest way to tread and the best corrective of speech. 6 Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation. 7 But [whether by night or by day,] remember thy Sustainer's name, and devote thyself unto Him with utter devotion. 8 [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. 9 Bear patiently with what they say, and ignore them politely. 10 And leave Me (alone to deal with) those in possession of the good things of life, who (yet) deny the Truth; and bear with them for a little while. 11 Verily with Us are heavy fetters and Scorch. 12 And a Food that chokes, and a Penalty Grievous. 13 on the Day the earth and mountains shall shake and the mountains crumble into shifting sand dunes. 14 Surely We have sent to you an Apostle, a witness against you, as We sent an apostle to Firon. 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 Then how, if ye disbelieve, will ye protect yourselves upon the day which will turn children grey, 17 [the Day] on which the skies shall be rent asunder, [and] His promise [of resurrection] fulfilled? 18 This is indeed a Reminder. Let whosoever will take the Path to his Lord. 19
