The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
