The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
