The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
