The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
