The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
