The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
