The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
