And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
