Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
