And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, – 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
