And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
