And this Qur'an is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
