The Unbelievers say: "What! when we become dust,- we and our fathers,- shall we really be raised (from the dead)? 67 We were promised this, forsooth, we and our fathers. (All) this is naught but fables of the men of old. 68 Say, "Roam across the earth and observe what was the end of the sinful ones." 69 And grieve thou not over them nor be straitened because of that which they plot. 70 And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?" 71 Say, "Perhaps some of the things which you wish to experience immediately are very close to you." 72 Your Lord has many favors for mankind but most of them are ungrateful. 73 Verily your Lord knows what lies hidden in their breasts and what they disclose. 74 And all the hidden secrets of the heavens and the earth are (written) in a clear Book. (The Preserved Tablet) 75 Surely this Koran relates to the Children of Israel most of that concerning which they are at variance; 76 And it certainly is a Guide and a Mercy to those who believe. 77 Surely your Lord will judge between them by his judgment, and He is the Mighty, the knowing. 78 So you place your trust in God. Certainly you stand on positive truth. 79 Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear (i.e. benefit them and similarly the disbelievers), nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they flee, turning their backs. 80 Nor can you lead the blind out of their error, you can only make to hear those who believe in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and who have submitted (themselves to Allah in Islam as Muslims). 81 ۞ When the sentence will have been passed against them, We shall bring forth beastly brutes from the earth who will torment them, for men certainly do not believe Our signs. 82
