The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim. 1 Do people think that they are left alone by saying: 'We are believers' and will not be tried? 2 And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test). 3 Or do the evildoers think that they will outstrip Us? How evil is their judgment! 4 Whosoever hopeth for the meeting with Allah, then Allah's term is surely coming, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. 5 Whoever strives hard should know that it is for his own good. God is independent of the whole world. 6 Those who believe and do good deeds, We shall cleanse them of their evil deeds and reward them according to the best of their deeds. 7 And We have enjoined on man kindness unto parents. But if the twain strive to make thee associate with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Unto Me is your return, and I shall declare unto you that which ye have been working. 8 As for those who believed and acted righteously, We shall certainly admit them among the righteous. 9 And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures? 10 Most certainly God will mark out those who believe and mark out those who are hypocrites. 11 Those who deny the truth say to the faithful, "Follow our way, and we will bear the burden of your sins." But they will bear none of their sins. They are surely lying. 12 And surely they shall bear their loads and other loads beside their own loads, and surely they shall be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they were wont to fabricate. 13
