The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 DO MEN THINK that on their [mere] saying, "We have attained to faith", they will be left to themselves, and will not be put to a test? 2 And certainly We tried those before them, so Allah will certainly know those who are true and He will certainly know the liars. 3 Do the evil-doers suppose that they will get the better of Us? How evil is their judgement! 4 Let those who have the desire to be in the presence of God on the Day of Judgment know that their day will certainly be coming. God is All-Hearing and All-Knowing. 5 And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself. Verily, Allah is free of all wants from the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 6 We shall expiate the sins of the righteously striving believers and shall reward them better than their deeds. 7 We have enjoined on man to be good to his parents; but if they try to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. You have to come back to Us, when I will tell you what you used to do. 8 And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most surely cause them to enter among the good. 9 And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures? 10 And Allah will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites. 11 Those who deny say to those who affirm: "Follow our way; we shall carry the burden of your sins." But they cannot carry the burden of their sins in the least. They are liars indeed. 12 Yet most certainly will they have to bear their own burdens, and other burdens besides their own; and most certainly will they be called to account on Resurrection Day for all their false assertions! 13
