And assuredly We sent Nuh unto his people. Then he tarried among them for a thousand years, save fifty years; and then deluge overtook them, while they were wrong-doers. 14 So We delivered him and the inmates of the ark, and made it a sign to the nations. 15 And Abraham, [too, was inspired by Us] when he said unto his people: "Worship God, and be conscious of Him: this is the best for you, if you but knew it! 16 You only worship idols besides Allah and you create a lie surely they whom you serve besides Allah do not control for you any sustenance, therefore seek the sustenance from Allah and serve Him and be grateful to Him; to Him you shall be brought back. 17 But if ye deny, then nations have denied before you. The messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly. 18 Do they not see how God originates creation, then reproduces it? That surely is easy for God. 19 Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things. 20 He punishes whomever He wills and has mercy upon whomever He wills; and towards Him only you are to return. 21 And you shall not escape in the earth nor in the heaven, and you have neither a protector nor a helper besides Allah. 22
