The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif Lam Mim. 1 The Byzantians have been overcome. 2 In the nearer land, and they, after their defeat will be victorious 3 In a few years (less than ten). God's is the imperative first and last. On that day the believers will rejoice 4 with the help of God. He helps whom He pleases: He is the Mighty, and the Merciful. 5 [This is] God's promise. Never does God fail to fulfill His promise - but most people know [it] not: 6 They know only the outward appearance of the life of the world, and they! of the Hereafter, they are neglecetful. 7 Do they not reflect in their own minds? Not but for just ends and for a term appointed, did Allah create the heavens and the earth, and all between them: yet are there truly many among men who deny the meeting with their Lord (at the Resurrection)! 8 Have they not travelled on the earth and seen how the others before them had met their end? They were far more powerful than them, furrowed the earth and colonised it far more than they; and their apostles came to them with visible signs. It was surely not for God to wrong them, they wronged themselves. 9 Then the end of those that did evil was evil, for that they cried lies to the signs of God and mocked at them. 10
