Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 Revelation of this Book, whereof there is no doubt, is from the Lord of the Worlds. 2 Will they say: he hath fabricated it? Aye! it is the truth from thy Lord, that thou mayest warn therewith a people unto whom no warner came before thee, that haply they may be guided. 3 It is God who created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, in six spans, then assumed all authority. You have no protector other than Him, nor any intercessor. Will you not be warned even then? 4 He regulates all affairs from high to low, then they rise to perfection step by step in a (heavenly) day whose measure is a thousand years of your reckoning. 5 Such is He who knows all that is beyond the reach of a created being's perception, as well as all that can be witnessed by a creature's senses or mind: the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 6 He Who excelled in the creation of all that He created. He originated the creation of man from clay, 7 then He made his progeny from an extract of a humble fluid. 8 Then He proportioned him and breathed into him from His [created] soul and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful. 9 And they said, “When we have mingled into the earth, will we be created again?”; in fact they disbelieve in the meeting with their Lord. 10 ۞ Say: "The Angel of Death, put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls: then shall ye be brought back to your Lord." 11
