Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
