Would that you could see the guilty standing before their Lord with their heads downcast, (saying to Him): “Our Lord, we have now seen and heard, so send us back (to the world) that we might act righteously. For now we have come to have firm faith.” 12 And had We willed We would have given every soul its guidance, but My Word is decreed that I will certainly fill hell with these jinns and men, combined. 13 We shall say to them, "Taste this -- for you forgot you would ever meet this Day. We too will forget you -- taste the chastisement of Eternity for your [evil] deeds!" 14 Only those believe in Our signs who, when they are reminded of them, fall down prostrate and proclaim the praise of their Lord, not waxing proud. ۩ 15 They forsake their beds, calling upon their Lord in fear and in hope, and spend out of what We have provided them with. 16 No soul knoweth what is kept hid for them of joy, as a reward for what they used to do. 17 What? Is he who has been a believer like unto him who has been ungodly? They are not equal. 18 Those who accepted faith and did good deeds – for them are the Gardens of (everlasting) stay; a welcome in return for what they did. 19 And as for those who transgress, their abode is the fire; whenever they desire to go forth from it they shall be brought back into it, and it will be said to them: Taste the chastisement of the fire which you called a lie. 20 And verily We make them taste the lower punishment before the greater, that haply they may return. 21 And who does more wrong than one to whom are recited the Signs of his Lord, and who then turns away therefrom? Verily from those who transgress We shall exact (due) Retribution. 22
