There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat. 33 And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein. 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign unto them is the night. We draw off the day therefrom, and lo! they are darkened. 37 And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And the moon, We have determined it in phases till it returns like an old palmbranch. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto whereon they ride. 42 And if We list, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout for them, nor will they be saved. 43 Unless by Our benevolence, to reap advantage for a time. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away. 46 And when it is said to them, “Spend in Allah’s cause, from what Allah has provided you”, the disbelievers say regarding the believers, “Shall we feed these, whom if Allah willed, would have fed? You are not but in open error!” 47 Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?" 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 and they will not even be able to make a testament, nor to return to their households. 50
