There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat. 33 And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein. 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him, who created all the pairs of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they know not. 36 A sign for them is the night. From it We withdraw the day and they are in darkness. 37 how the sun moves in its orbit and this is the decree of the Majestic and All-knowing God; 38 We have appointed stages for the moon till it returns in the shape of a dry old branch of palm-tree. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said to them: "Beware of what is before you and what is past, that you may be treated with kindness;" 45 Never does any Sign of their Lord come to them, but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: "Spend of that with which Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed? You are only in a plain error." 47 And they add, "When is this promise [of resurrection] to be fulfilled? [Answer this] if you are men of truth!" 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
