If We extend anyone's life, We reverse his development. Can they not use their reason? 68 AND [thus it is:] We have not imparted to this [Prophet the gift of] poetry, nor would [poetry] have suited this [message]: it is but a reminder and a [divine] discourse, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth, 69 That it may warn him who would have life, and (that) the word may prove true against the unbelievers. 70 Do they not see that, among the things which Our hands have fashioned, We have created for them cattle of which they are the masters, 71 We have subjected these to them, so that some may be used for riding and some for food, 72 From cattle they get milk and other benefits. Will they not then give thanks? 73 They set up deities apart from Allah, hoping that they will receive help from them. 74 They cannot help them, but they will be brought forward as a troop against those who worshipped them (at the time of Reckoning). 75 Let not their speech, then, grieve thee. Verily We know what they hide as well as what they disclose. 76 Does not man see that We created him from a drop. Yet there he is, flagrantly contentious, 77 He strikes for Us a similitude and forgot his own creation. He says: “Who will quicken the bones when they have decayed?” 78 Say: He will give life to them Who brought them into existence at first, and He is cognizant of all creation 79 Who giveth you out of the green tree fire, and lo! ye kindle therewith. 80 Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator. 81 Verily, when He intends a thing, His Command is, "be", and it is! 82 So all glory to Him who holds all power over everything, to whom you will go back in the end. 83
