The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 And kept far away. There is perpetual punishment for them, 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 And also our forefathers? 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 It will be but one Shout, then see, they are watching 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 “Yes, this is the Day of Final Decision that you used to deny as a lie.” 21
