The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 There will be but a single blast and then their eyes will open. 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
