The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels ranged in ranks. 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say: Aye! and you shall be abject. 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
