The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who establish proper ranks. 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 By the angels reciting the praise. 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 They cannot listen to the speech of those on higher elevations and they are targeted from every side. 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,- 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 And our forefathers? 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
