1/2 Hizb 45

۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 “And stop them they are to be questioned.” 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
