1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 “And stop them they are to be questioned.” 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
