Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
