Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
