3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
