And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
