And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 You and your fathers? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
